Thank you for your patronage over the past several years as Erica and I have worked to rebuild this department to provide for your poster printing and portrait photography needs. This past year has been especially difficult—while we are grateful for the increase demand, our limited staffing has hindered our ability to meet that demand and provide you with the quality service that you have been accustomed to in the past.
Our department of two will be limited to one staff member by the end of Fall Quarter. Erica is slated to return by Summer 2025. As this will become a one-person shop until then, we are making some immediate changes now to ensure we have a clean slate going into the new year.
We will be temporarily halting poster orders after November 27.
In order for us to fulfill our obligations to our photography clients, we will need to shut down the poster shop to give us enough time to complete our edits. Customers will have until 11:59pm on November 27 to submit their orders for printing.
The poster shop will still be open for poster pick-ups, and we will be printing any group order requests that we’ve received. The last day we will be open for pick-ups during Fall Quarter is December 13. We will be closed during the Winter Break and will reopen on January 6, 2025 for Winter Quarter.
Adjustments to poster services for 2025.
To ensure that the shop is not overwhelmed, we will be implementing a quota system during the Winter Quarter where we will allow x number of orders per day. This number will reset at 12:00am each day. There will be no exceptions to the rule. Orders MUST be submitted through our online form—attempts to submit orders through e-mail will be denied. Poster printing turnaround times will be five business days.
Rush service will be EXTREMELY limited (The shop will only be able to accept only one or two per day). Group orders of 10+ posters will need a minimum turnaround time of ten business days. Please plan accordingly!
If you have any questions regarding poster ordering, please reach out to uwposter@uw.edu. If you have any comments regarding these changes, you may reach out to Jason Lindahl (jlindahl@uw.edu). Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Kari
